Health and Well-being
The development of skills and knowledge of health and well-being sits at the very core of all learning experiences at Upland Primary. We strive to ensure that the children develop the knowledge, understanding and skills which they need now and in the future.
We believe that embedding health and well-being across learning, whether this takes place within the school, other learning environments, at home or in the wider community is crucial to healthy development and life-styles.
The aspects of health and well-being which the school promotes are;
- Mental and emotional well-being
- Social well-being
- Physical activity and sport.
- Physical education
- Physical well-being
The link below will take you to our Health and Well-being Curriculum Self Evaluation. Here, you will find information about all aspects of Health and Well-being at Upland and what makes it special. We are proud of the developments that have taken place over the past 2 years, including improving the quality of Physical Education, increased participation in competitive sport, our increased focus on children’s mental health and the pride that our pupils take in developing their well-being in and outside of school. We recognise the importance of providing our children with the opportunities to contribute to the community. As a result, the Health and Well-being team have introduced Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and Play Leaders. These groups play a big part in ensuring that our pupils support and care for each other.
