Day 3 Year 5 Outward Bound
Good Morning Parents and Carers,
Yesterday saw the most challenging day yet for all the children and staff. The weather wasn’t so kind, some rain but incredibly windy.
Unfortuately the canoeing activity was cancelled due to 80mph gusts across the lake, so quite rightly so the team decided to give this one a miss.
All groups yesterday did the beach walk and then scrambled up the cliffs. Some of the chidren were feeling very brave and did the full cliff climb and an abseil back down. I can’t wait to see those photos !!
Some children had a go on the on site climbing wall and many conquered their fears. I know the staff were incredibly proud of the children. They were all very supportive of eachother.
They are all kitted up fine and are dealing with the weather situation really well. Noone has claimed that they are cold. They are being very well looked after.
Dinner last night was Shepherds pie, chicken and chips or macaroni cheese with apple pie and custard for desert. They truly are eating like kings and queens.
The evening activity sessions consisted of low ropes and the swap chalenge, this was a real team building and resilience test for the children. Lots of fun was had by all and a few bodies swinging aound like monkeys.
The children were all asleep by 21.40 pm as the day was was challenging, but fun.
Today all groups are on a mountain expedition for the day. More wind is expected but no rain today.
Have a wonderful day.
